Practical Info

Ordering

Theater tickets at Orpheus can be purchased online, by phone or at the theater box office counter.

Online

The easiest way to order tickets is via our website Orpheus.nl. Use the translate function in your browser or Google Translate to translate the website from Dutch into the language of your choice.

Click 'Tickets' to add a show to your shopping basket. When you have finished shopping, click on 'Afrekenen' (checkout) to select your seats. In order to choose your own seats, select 'Zelf stoelen kiezen' (Choose your own seats) to open the seating map. Or choose 'Automatische plaatsing' (automatic seating) to automatically choose the best available seats. After you have selected your seats, press 'Verder' (next) to proceed to the checkout. If you aren't logged in, you need to login or create an account first.

You can pay with iDeal, credit card, voucher code or Podium Cadeaukaart (gift card). After payment you receive an order confirmation by email. Your tickets can be found in the Agenda section of your account.

The theater box office can be reached by phone on weekdays from 10:00 AM at +31 (0)55 527 03 00.

We are happy to help you with your order by phone. You will receive an invoice by email with a payment link. After payments, you will receive your tickets by mail.

The theater box office is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The box office is located 

The theatre box office is located on Maduralaan, along with the artist entrance (artiesteningang). The box office also opens one hour before the start of a performance.

Before a performance
The theater doors open one hour before each performance.
Orpheus has multiple entrances. Coming from the parking lot you will see a large LED screen that shows which entrance you can use.

Public transit
Orpheus is near bus stop "Grote Kerk" and about a 15-minute walk from bus stop "Marktplein". The train station is about a 20-minute walk away. Plan your route on 9292.nl.

Parking

There is a paid parking garage located next to Orpheus. The parking garage are open 24/7 and are wheelchair accessible.

When full, you can divert to parking garage Q-Park Museum Centrum, which is a 5-minute walk away.

Disabled parking spaces
There are two designated disabled parking spaces on the upper deck of the Orpheus parking garage, reserved for disabled people with a disability parking card. Use the right entrance gate and press the intercom button to let a municipal employee open the barrier. Please note that these are paid parking spaces. There is also a limited number of disabled parking spaced at the south entrance (Maduralaan), indicated by the traffic sign with a wheelchair symbol.

Accessibility

We like to provide visitors with a disability a carefree visit to Orpheus. All our halls and foyers are accessible for wheelchair users.

Please note that the balconies in the Hanos hall can only be reached via stairs, and are therefore less accessible for people with mobility problems.

Wheelchair Locations
Each hall has a special wheelchair area reserved for wheelchair users and companions. These can only be booked by telephone: +31 (0) 55 527 03 00 (open weekdays from 10 a.m.). Per wheelchair user, one extra companion seat is available.

Accessible toilets
The accessible toilet is located on the ground floor at the Rabobankzaal, and on level -1 at the Hanoszaal / Altioszaal, reachable by elevator.

Hearing impaired
Prior to each performance, free hearing amplification can be borrowed at the information desk. You can adjust the receiver to your own preference. After the performance, the device can be returned to the information desk free of charge. 

House rules

In order to serve you as best as possible and to avoid unpleasant surprises as much as possible, we have listed our most important house rules.

  • A valid ticket is needed for each performance. Tickets need to be scanned at the entrance. Printing e-tickets is not necessary, e-tickets can also be scanned directly from a mobile device.
  • Please arrive on time. If you arrive after the performance's start time, you may be denied entrance to the auditorium, or you can only be admitted after the intermission.
  • A selection of drinks can be purchased at the bars. For most performances, a free cup of coffee or tea is provided prior to the performance. Also, one free drink is offered during the intermission with most performances. If a performance has no intermission, the free drink is offered afterwards.
  • It is prohibited to film or photograph during performances. Also the use of a mobile phone is not permitted during performances. We therefore kindly ask you to switch off your mobile phone when entering the auditorium.
  • Because of fire safety, it is not permitted to bring coats or big bags into the auditorium. The use of the guarded cloakroom is mandatory, where you can leave your coat and/or bag free of charge.
  • Smoking is prohibited inside the premises.
  • Free booster seats for children are available at the information desk prior to the performance. Children do need their own ticket and assigned seat.
